Again - this is absolutely nothing new. China has been doing this for a very long time with everything from cheap consumer goods all the way to aircraft and weapons systems. They strike deal (remember - all businesses/corporations in China are ultimately owned by the Government), get the specifications, plans, etc, make the product for a time within the licensing/contracts, then start making them on their own OUTSIDE of any contract. Who is going to enforce that contract, copyright, or patent? Not the Chinese government who is making a literal steal!

This is kind of like how the Russian government has chosen not to enforce copyright laws in the US music industry.

The best revenge is outrageous success.

Someday soon Americans will be out there on the cutting edge of the next frontier — and we will be alone because other nations just don’t know how to do it.

I have no sympathy - not one bit - for American executives who moved their business to China and then had it stolen.

Five hundred years ago, who would have believed that rustic, backwards Europe and a wild place like North America would have been the technological leaders of the world, capable of traveling into outer space? No one, and certainly not the Arabs or the Chinese.

But it ain’t over yet.

The Third Industrial Revolution, by Stine (1979).

We had the technology over thirty years ago; we’re still the only ones that can do it today.

(Though this book above was published in 1979, you can buy a used copy off of ebay. And no, I’m not Stine nor in any way associated with him.)

With Trump putting out a 25% tariff on China proposal and a few more of these type of articles in the mainstream I can see a blame China program picking up steam and taking the heat off of our own failed political/crony system.

Trusting the Asians Main Land Chinese is a risky business.

Quite a bit more accurate. There is more than one "Asian"...you know.

Diversity is our STRENGTH!

Obama is wise and good and Sarah Palin is full of HATE!

Given China’s history of producing knock offs, if anyone with a manufacturing plant in China is surprised by this... Well, what did you expect?

I'd like to know of any Asian country that hasn't set up barriers to US goods and manipulated its currency to run up trade surpluses at the expenses of American workers and industry.

Sounds like anyone doing business with the Chinese is pretty stupid. Or so blinded by greed that they just don’t care to think about the risks involved if things go sour.

Serves them right for sending American jobs and building factories in China.

I guess I look at this differently. The reason they go to China is that it is a better place to do business than in the USA. It tells us how bad the USA is to do business.................

Fellowes has mostly written off the China business, and is starting another manufacturing facility in Illinois.

I would say he still hasn’t learned his lesson. There are better places.

I'd like to know of any Asian country that hasn't set up barriers to US goods and manipulated its currency to run up trade surpluses at the expenses of American workers and industry.

That comment is a pretty common one. I've heard it voiced a number of times.
My basic response is..."So, What do you expect from them?(them being any country with such a trade policy).
The first and foremost issue these foreign negotiators have is to get what is best for their country. That s where their interest lays. Thats what their job is to do. It is naive, and a bit simple headed IMO, to come to the table and expect them to do anything other than that - Get What is Best for Them.

The main question is - Why don't the U.S. negotiators do the same damn thing? Isn't that what their job is supposed to be?
There job is NOT to be "making buddies." Its not to be "winning friends."
Its to further what is best for the U.S.A. Right?
So why aren't these trade officers doing exactly that? - THERE IS THE REAL QUESTION.

I'll tell you why, IMO - The overwhelming majority of FSO(Foreign Service Officers) are inbred, nepotistic, no-ball, perfumed pussed pansy-ass lightweights who haven;t the intestinal fortitude nor the business accumen to actually do anything more than say - "Yes, yes, I can do that for you" while doing the lounge rounds and local cocktail circuit.

It may come as a harsh surprise, but the reputation of the U.S. Foreign Service Office is pretty damn poor. As to their ability to do trade negotiations...well...what you see tells you all you need to know.

(OK...personal rant off)
