The most plausible explanation I've read here on FR is that he won't release any information related to his birth certificate because the name on the birth certificate is Barry Soetoro, not Barack Obama. And there's likely evidence suggesting that he's gone by the name Barry Soetoro in many different capacities in his earlier life.
The real issue here isn't whether Obama was born in the U.S. It's whether the jug-eared dope sitting in the White House is really named Barack Obama.

Well, besides being embarrassing, it would disqualify him.

HOWEVER as innocent as you think this all may be, this person AKA Barack Hussein Obama stated his goal is to FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORM THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
This statement of his, added to the fact that he is not a natural born citizen, shows that his allegience is NOT to the constitution and preserving the United States of America as we know it.
I totally agree with that, which is why I stated that I was not particularly sure Trump could be trusted. He definitely has other motives, and they could range from the benign (free publicity) to the nefarious (the second-coming of Ross Perot). However, he has definitely provided the most serious backing for the Birther movement since the issue first came up. Far more than Orly, to use a loony example, could have done (and I am so certain she was either crazy or pulling for the other side). With Trump, the issue simply will not go away that easily. However, as a Conservative, he is not even a small ‘c’ conservative.
Don't be such a gutless coward about the MSM.
All Trump needs to do is discuss the meaning of natural born Citizen. He has yet to even mention the term.
I think the Ct Soc Sec is the smoking gun in the mystery of the Kenyan Impostor. The Kenyan has committed identity fraud. All else devolves from there.

That cite itself just restates the fact reported by a WND article it links to. But the WND article does not give date, committee or any other information (that I saw in the article) that could truly validate the claim of a hearing. I think the subject of NBC was also investigated and discussed in re Barry Goldwater.

I believe you are wrong about this. Throughout the 1970's and 1980's the US had a closer strategic relationship with Pakistan than we had with India, and while a Pakistani consular visa stamp would have been required by their customs authorities, a US passport was certainly a valid travel document to get into the country. The kind of restriction you're describing would have only applied to places like Cuba, North Korea, and (at that time) Libya.
I've traveled to countries using a regular US passport which, at the time, had no regular diplomatic relations with America (Iraq and Syria in the early 80's are my best personal examples). Having those visas in my passport was never an issue coming back into the US. The list of countries that are actually forbidden to US passport holders is and has always been quite short.
This, however, in no way disputes the theory that Obama may have qualified for, obtained, and used an Indonesian passport to travel to Pakistan. The problem is his passport and all other relevant records are under seal and that leads to all kinds of conjecture. Making it so people who question his background can be labeled conspiracy nuts through a shell game of misdirection may well be a part or even the main rationale behind all this unprecedented secrecy. But spending several million $'s to do that should seem over the top to any reasoning person.
