“I believe it said that to produce 15KW of power output, it has to have 80 watts of power input.”

Do you believe 80 watts of power input could provide the pressure necessary to prevent a pressurized fusion reactor from exploding?

Read this carefully: “...Andrea Rossi’s technology, which combines small amounts of ubiquitous and safe Nickel and Hydrogen in the presence of proprietary catalyst under pressure and heat to generate a large amount of heat...” again. Creating the pressure to prevent an explosion alone would utilize much more than 80 watts of power.

Sounds like a scam to me. And I don’t believe that statement about heating two of his factories for a year, either.

The power input isn’t what provides pressure, so far as I can tell, it’s a pressurised container. I presume the container provides the “pressure”, in the sense of not allowing the pressure to escape. You can create a high enough pressure to hurt yourself in a pressure cooker with no power input at all, just by throwing baking soda and vinegar in the cooker and sealing the lid shut.

I don't know. I was only pointing out what was in the article, in reference to a comment by a poster that it was some kind of 'free energy' device.

combines small amounts of ubiquitous and safe Nickel and Hydrogen in the presence of proprietary catalyst under pressure and heat to generate a large amount of heat

I noticed that when I read the article, and thought that it was likely they were not including the 'energy' required to perform that process in their quote of 80 watts of input power.

Much like the greenies who leave out the actual source of 'energy' to recharge battery powered cars.
