My Got!
Sion is stuck in Groundhog Day!
I k-noticed that. I am so sorry (X 3.)
Hoo-raw, hoo-ray, I escaped it! I am back in Paris now, but on a stopover from Germany, on my way home to arrive Sunday. Touching down in Seattle soon after Mass ends.
A busy time in Saarbrücken, a city that not even the Germans attending had seen before. It may be in the industrial Ruhr valley, but what I saw was very pleasant with some very old and well-maintained churches and other buildings. Culture, what little I saw, seemed a pleasant mix of German and French; not the same but it reminded me a lot of southern Germany (Bavaria and Schwabia -- I love what I have seen of the latter).
Tonight (it's drawing to midnight) I am in a budget hotel in downtown Paris, close to the Opera. "Budget" in Paris means $150/night -- not quite up to the level of the $40/night Motel 6 in Kingman AZ I visited in January, but it's a very long walk from that Motel 6 to the Eiffel Tower, the Arc d'Triomphe, Notre Dame and everything else in Paris.
Unlike the Motel 6 there's no A/C here, so the windows are open despite street (party) noise -- on a Friday night. But it's not so bad; our hotel in Cairo was worse with the windows closed!
