American Idol on FOXs season may be over, but now the finalists are hitting the Billboard Charts with their tunes. Winner Scotty McCreery kicks off his debut on the charts with a historic start! Keep reading for all the details!
American Idol season ten winner Scotty McCreerys new single I Love You This Big hit the airways and the charts after his big win last week. We knew the fans loved Scotty and its showing as his debut has made history on the Country music charts, which has come in debuting at number 32. According to Billboard, the debut marks the highest for a brand new artists first single since the chart converted to BDS data the week of Jan. 20, 1990. Lauren Alaina also debuted on the charts at number 49 with Like My Mother Does.
Scotty McCreery could possibly give American Idol their 300th number soon, some are speculating as early as this week. Scottys single is topping iTunes at the moment, which indicates a possible debut at number one on Billboards Hot 100, Hot Digital Singles and Country Digital Singles charts. Scottys debut single is already off to a better start than Idols previous two winners, Lee DeWyze and Kris Allen leaving most speculating that he will do better in album sales as well.
I heard Scotty’s song on the radio today for the first time. It sounded very radio friendly and should do well for him.
