Agree. Idol may have some internal numbers that show Scotty running away with this, so they went out of their way to swing some votes to Lauren. But it wasn't necessary. Like you said, she delivered with her voice--and BIG TIME on that last song.
I was thinking they were trying to give it to her. But you’re right, it may be to just simply get her closer to Scotty’s numbers. If they are expecting Scotty to win maybe they wanted to give her that last memorable moment with her mother.
We thought that moment seemed more like something you would do after you won the show, not the day before. According to Drudge, Scotty won hands down.
