I hated that song that Casey did this past week. These were better, imho.

I think they need to have Scotty watch his performances and take note of movements and facial expressions and such. He might not be aware of what he’s doing.
Not a fan of Casey's although I appreciate that he sings jazz and is a talented musician. I just don't like the way he approaches songs. His style comes off too angry. Too mean. Nothing about jazz is mean, but he makes it seem that way. Jazz can be deliberately discordant sometimes, but never mean.
Jacob is interesting in that he does have talent, but again, he's a garden variety gospel singer who doesn't seem to have a style separate from his gospel roots. That's fine if it's where he wants to take his career, but it doesn't work for pop or modern R&B. The other thing about Jacob is that his effeminate qualities overshadow his performances, at least for me.
To me, James is the best of this bunch by far. Not only is he vocally talented, but he doesn't forget Rule #1 when it comes to performing before an audience. ENTERTAIN THE PEOPLE!
All the fussy blah, blah, blah about "art" notwithstanding, if a performer doesn't entertain the people, they will not pay good money for concerts, records, etc. James makes watching him perform fun, joyful, engaging. That's really what it's all about.
