Julie London..she had a great voice...sultry...somewheres I have a few of her LPs..when I was little, my dad used to listen to Kay Starr and Jo Stafford....
My list..not in any order:
1. "Somewhere (over the rainbow)" Wizard of Oz ( AI thread fans of Katherine McTatas will well recall her performance..and maybe we need a pick or two to remind us..)
2. "As time goes by" Casablanca...perhaps the greatest torch song ever
3. "Dancing cheek to cheek" ..Top Hat...(ah, Fred and Ginger)
4. "San Francisco" from the movie of the same name...Clark Gable, Jeanette MacDonald ( boy, did she have a set of pipes..)
5. "Yankee Doodle Boy" " Yankee Doodle Dandy" (Jimmy Cagney could sure dance..
Bonus: "Days of Wine and Roses" ( from movie of same name)
Now, what we're likely to hear:
Fame, Footloose Moon River, Mrs. Robinson, The Way we Were, Stayin' Alive, Titanic ( would anyone dare? maybe Jacob?) Raindrops keep fallin' on my head..,Flashdance
Suggestion for James: Do Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock" ..one of the greatest Rock and roll songs EVER.. it was from the movie "Blackboard Jungle"..he could OWN that..it would stop the show..
And just to prove to you all that I know a little bit about more recent stuff..early 90's film.."Benny and Joon" had a great song by the Proclaimers.. "when I wake up...I wanna be.." I think Paul could do well with this..might save his ass)
I'd like to hear Scotty do "As time goes by"...it would work well in his register...
