Miss Buttinski here speaking! LOL!
Since I started the conversation about the Big Red Apple (my hiding place for candy) see post #178, my big apple is ceramic/pottery, leaves and all. My sister in law gave it to me for Christmas many, many years ago. As I told Meg, I always kept candy in it for my granddaughter. They would always go to the big apple looking for goodies. And now I keep my goodies in there! I love it and will never get rid of it. It cleans up really good.
Just got back from funeral home (sniff) and haven’t got my good clothes off yet, which I’m getting ready to do now.
I meant for granddaughters, not granddaughter, singular! And my grammar in the last sentence is BAD!
We couldn't afford too much, so every two or three months, I would buy one saucer or one plate. I did that for two years (or more), building up the set, until I had complete service for eight (or twelve).
Now, it is all stuffed in a box in my garage - unused and unappreciated for so many years gone by.
Perhaps, I will get it out, and use it again.......just not sure how that will feel - bringing so many memories back.
Here is a picture of the bread and butter plate

I still have one saucer that I use, that was under a plant for many years. I used vinegar to clean it, and it looks good as new.
