I don't doubt that story at all. I remember, years ago, a relative who was with the Sheriffs Dept. said that it depended on what part of town the call came in from as to how fast they would get there. Even then, I thought that was pretty sad and the crime was only about 1/10th of what it is today.
No wonder LEOs aren't well thought of in a lot places.
Its probably true. Its a sad thing though.
