We just had Popeyes for dinner. There was a lively discussion regarding it compared to KFC. I'd like your thoughts. I say you can't beat the red beans and rice though.
Popeye all the way, no comparison. Both the regular and spicy are great.

I’d say they both taste like chicken.
Never have tried Popeyes or Churches. I prefer a ton of coating and a peppery/spicy seasoning. If KFC had an extra crispy skin sandwich I would order it.
I’ll take either!
Popeye’s without a doubt. Lately QA at KFC seems to be on the decline locally.
I definetly like Popeyes mashed potatoes and gravy. The little bits of meat and just a little bit of heat...mmmm.
Popeye’s used to have the very best onion rings, by far. I don’t know why they stopped.
Love the cajun rice and red beans/rice.
And the chicken is better, especially the extra spicy.
But I do like KFC original for a change.
I agree.
Popeye’s for sure!
This thread will be pulled, but I still like KFC. Popeyes very well might have superior chicken, but I still crave KFC though. Popeye’s rice is better then any fry or side dish from any other fast food joint. Meal in itself
I like the small, independent chicken shacks found in ethnic neighborhoods.
KFC is the worst fried chicken on earth. Their success baffles me. I’ve had Popeye’s a few times. It’s not great, but it’s better than KFC. I like Church’s and Bojangles. I think Bojangles is the best.
Popeyes spicy but only on vacation since the two here closed down.
Popeyes edges out KFC but I still like the KFC original recipe. But as far as side dishes then Popeyes smokes KFC with their red beans and rice!
Popeyes! hands down!
I got a pot pie at KFC that had NO chicken
And the colonel dont have Crawfish sangwiches our etouffee!
Which is a pretty good trick considering what it really is. :-)
j/k
Well, did you like the Popeye’s? The last time I ate KFC was over a quarter century ago, and was sick for about a day afterward. A good fried chicken chain back in the day was Pioneer. ....in L.A. But one can’t beet the old joints down in the ‘hood.
Popeye’s hands down. The red beans and rice are awesome. Trouble is there aren’t too many around my area.
