Nonsense. How would you reconcile your claim with His statement, " For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again."? Never to be equaled again? So, according to your explanation, there has never from AD70 until the present day been a time more perilous for the world than during the fall of Jerusalem?

Yes. All of that happened during the 40 years (generation) after Jesus gave up his life to those who crucified him. It was a horrible time for pregnant and nursing women during the destruction of Jerusalem. People were starving and a woman was even reported to have slain the child at her breast for food. These events prophesied were accounted for in 70AD. I don't want to be looking for that kind of history to repeat itself!
