Conservative pollsters show Palin with high negatives along with Newt Gingrich. Frank Luntz said on Hannity the other night that Palin's biggest weakness is with independents.
So name recognition doesn't mean a lot if the majority have an unfavorable view of the candidate.
And in Politics, the name is the game.
Ronald Reagan wasn't anymore well known nationwide than Michele Bachmann in 1978. Obama wasn't well known in 2006.
It appears to me, as a casual observer, Christie has a problem with Palin, and not the other way around.
If I have missed something she or her spokesman has said or done that shows my opinion to be errant, please tell me about it.
BUT, what I keep seeing are third party commenters who paint both sides with the “fight” and “feud” brushes.
“Ronald Reagan wasn’t anymore well known nationwide than Michele Bachmann in 1978.”
Sorry, Chief, but you just rang the ignorant (or troll) bell. Ronald Reagan was a household name. Are you from America? Or are you a kid?
This is just flat out the dumbest thing anyone has ever said on FR.
Honestly, where do you come from that you don’t know this? Or are you so desperate to make a point you are willing to say such a stupid thing?
Outside of California, he was merely B list actor.
And, he never had anywhere near the negatives Palin has right now. That is a problem.
“Outside of California, he was merely B list actor.”
Oh. OK. Thanks.
Eeeeek.
