I'm as hard on Glen Beck as anyone, but after reading the article I just don't see how the New York Times can claim he's leaving when management quoted at the end of the artice says just the opposite.

I never heard Beck mention it and I just thought it was a convenient tidbit that Mr. Scare, Glenn Beck, uses the business name of the author of the biggest national scare of all time.

But I refuse to jump to conclusions based on assumptions or partial knowledge.

exactly! Beck does his homework and, further, he urges everyone to verify what he says vs just believing his reports. He uses facts and, yes, his predictions have come to fruition.

I like Beck and think he does an excellent job of teaching on his program. Unfortunately, and speaking only for myself, I find his program to be like a very sweet liqueur; I can only take it in small doses because it’s so intense. It’s easy to get so upset watching his show, and at times, feel so overwhelmed by all the people working to destroy our nation every day, that I simply have to turn it off. Could be one reason his ratings are not as strong as last year, if in fact that’s the case; people may just be overloaded. Now we have to deal with a presidential election!

That’s because there is no possibility this will turn out well in the long term. Democracy in the muslim world means having the right to vote for the next anti-west dictator.

I would say that is shortsighted. Yes, anti Western governments may rise in some of these places, but people have to collectively make their own decisions and live with the consequences.

Losing Iran to Islamic fanaticism has been terrible in the short to mid term, but when that repressive regime finally folds we may end up with a genuinely pro Western government that we don't have to prop up to keep it in power.

The question here, at heart, is do you have any faith at all in Islamic people's to modernize and learn from their mistakes. This is a tough call. I don't have the answer. However, the only way we will find out is if Muslims begin making their own decisions about how to run their countries free of Western support for dictators and monarchs.

It may turn out very badly, but Beck's assumption that all of these protests in the Muslim world spell nothing but disaster is far more pessimistic than I think warrants.

Red Eye is a great show...but at 3 am who is up to see it but for nursing mothers and crackheads too addled to switch the channel.
FOX would be dead to me if Beck leaves.

He’s being boycotted by the left. They run very successful campaigns against anyone who advertizes on his show. For that reason, I would hate to see him leave FNC.
