If it had been “Hey, we’re on the couch because we agree on finding a cure for breast cancer” it would have been fine with me, like the Gipper’s evening cocktails with Tip O’Neill. But supporting cap and trade? That would be a dealbreaker even if he did it on his own.
Newt is just another beltway bandit. He talks tough but in the end he will just be another empty suit.
Palin may not be the idea person, but she has more time in a management role than most. She talks tough and seems like she is willing to back it up.
