Hi TCP...

There is dairy free margarine on the market (don't remember the name tho) and you can replace, in most cookie recipes, 50% of the oil, butter, crisco, or margarine, with applesauce or strained baby prunes (no, it doesn't change taste or ladies room visits..lol). I use Butter Buds but they have dehydrated butter in them. I have no idea how that would affect your allergy.

In cakes or sweet breads I replace the full amount and works just fine.

Really good to hear you have finally found some relief. I wish you luck in your search for replacements.

Hey, thanks for the info!

I would really miss baking cookies.

I’ve been called “The Cookie Monster”.

Love to make brownies once a month or so too.

I heard about the applesause substituting, but was not sure how to do it.

I’ll have to check the web for recipes helpful “food challenged” gals like me.

Cheers!
