Hawaii is still getting surges but not as bad as the ones that did damage, but enough that the harbors are not open. All who took their boats out to sea are safe but can not come back into the harbors for anchorage. Who knows how long it will take to get an okay on that. My good friends that own the Waterfront Restaurant right on Maalaea harbor said the water came right up to the restaurant but never came in. So they were really lucky. Most of the swimming pools at the condos along the coast are filled with salt water now, but the condos themselves suffered little damage. Reports still coming in as we speak. aloha

I read all your posts today and was so glad to hear the information you provided to us. Was very glad to know that you and your family were all safe! It could have been so much worse! I feel so sorry for the people in Japan. We have no idea what the death toll will be in the long run but I believe its going to be very high! Thanks for keeping us informed, fish hawk!
