Whenever I read the Gospels, I identify with the disciples. Like me, they seemed slow to catch on. Jesus kept saying things like Dont you understand it yet? and Are you still so dull? (see Mark 7:18). Finally, however, Peter got it, at least one part of it. When Jesus asked, Who do you say that I am? Peter answered, You are the Christ (8:29).
Peter was right about the whoJesusbut he was still wrong about the how. When Jesus predicted His death, Peter rebuked Him for it. Jesus, in turn, rebuked Peter: Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men (v.33).
Peter was still thinking in human ways of establishing kingdoms. One ruler would overthrow another and set up a new government. He was expecting Jesus to do the same. But Christs kingdom was going to come in a new waythrough service and the sacrifice of His life.
The method God uses today hasnt changed. Whereas Satans voice tempts us to gain power, the voice of Jesus tells us that the meek will inherit the earth (Matt. 5:5). To gain citizens for Gods kingdom, we must follow the example of Jesus, who set aside selfish ambitions, served others, and called people to repent of their sin.
Tell me Mayor what do you think of the situation in Britain where a Christian couple are told they can’t adopt because their religious views of homosexuality are inconsistent with what the law wants. They were told that their personal views weren’t in question, only their religious views which seems silly since to a Christian, their religious views and their personal views are the same.
Good Morning!!! Good Morning!!! I’m starved!!!
I want that Rancher, a steaming cup of coffee, and one of Johnn’s famous Cinnamon Rolls!!!!
You’ll find me at table 3 sitting by the fire watching those boats come and go!
I didn’t know about that... It’s insane. Our personal and religious views are one in the same.
Good Morning...my prayer today is that I will be meek in spirit.
Your food is on the way to your table, along with a fresh from the oven Roll, and a carafe of coffee. a hearty good morning to you and enjoy the day!
If Christians don’t wake up soon, we’ll be illegal and likely having to wear crosses on our clothes to identify us for punishment by the anti-Semitic and anti-religious mobs of leftist haters.
I reminded a Christian the other day that while God says to turn the other cheek, we need to remember he only gave us two cheeks, so there is a limit!
I also reminded him that Jesus told his followers to divide their garments and buy two swords. (for 12 men, two swords would give them the ability to defend themselves, but not be considered an armed gang.) It is the test of a Christian today to stand and defend his faith from those set on demeaning it or outright destroying it. The meek will be beaten down, our faith made a crime, and the Bible a forbidden book if we don’t stand up and tell the haters to shut up! In America we are free to be Christian even if the left don’t like it!
TIP!
Oh Boy, we’re talk’n now, I can afford to get more food for the cyber cafe for tomorrow! Thanks!!!!
I love Red Rover and I want to play.

Also Billie, your graphic was darling yesterday. I was away part of the day and tired the rest of the day. Feel about the same today.
The more sun there is, all I see is more chores for me to do and don't feel like doing those either. I'm sure there will be better days to come....at least I'm hoping.
BUT I STILL LOVE SPRING!
I posted on the other thread! Did you? Don’t guess it matters.
I know God hears our prayers from both/all threads.
I will see Jim this afternoon and will get you an update.
Yes, JC - I posted on the Main thread for prayers for Jim. But, my heart is so heavy with concern, that I posted it here, too - (just in case anyone missed it.)

I’ll be looking forward to your update, dearest Amy. Please give him a smooch on his unshaven cheek from me and all of us, or on his clean shaven cheek if he’s since shaved. Sort of a running joke. In his update, he sounded cheerful. Dear God and sweet Jesus, please hold him close and let his good cheer continue.
I firmly agree...we cannot say too many prayers...God Bless dear Jim! He has another mountain to climb!
See you guys a bit later.
Preach it, Brothers!
Prayers offered up as you fight the good fight.
