Schaefer Beer (IIRC) used an animated beer bottle - “Quartzie” - as a mascot. That was my nickname.

You neglected to mentionan awesome amenity: at AT&T park there is a free area where you can just walk up and see the game through the fence. It's visible in your photo, in the out field wall, to the left of the 1st base line.

It is really cool. We used to ride our bikes up to it, and view the game for free!

I've heard a lot of good things about PNC Park but why would you want to visit a great ballpark with a perpetually bad team, which really detracts from the fan experience?

That's why I like AT&T Park--great park, and with the best pitching staff outside the Phillies, at least I'll watch a competitive team on the field.

YOU are DAMN CLUELESS. Robert Moses DROVE the Dodgers from Brooklyn NOT Walter. Get historically educated!

I agree with you. O’Malley tried very hard to privately acquire public land near the train terminal and build a new stadium there. Moses was adamant that he wanted a new stadium in Queens or there would be no new stadium. O’Malley was adamant that the team stay in Brooklyn in a new stadium or he would consider the offer from Los Angeles. Moses aggressively thwarted O’Malley at every turn leaving him with no alternative but to consider all options outside of New York.

In the end, Moses got his ballpark in Queens (Shea Stadium) and he got rid of O’Malley whom he despised.

I went to the PNC park in 2001 and I really liked it. Love how the stadium is tucked inside downtown area.
