Hopefully, no different than the dummy Horace Stoneham.
Candlestick Park indeed.

Only one problem: the Angels have a WAY better chance to get to the World Series than the Dodgers this coming season. Especially now with the Giants' pitching rotation, probably the second best in the MLB after the Phillies' rotation.

Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim

Other baseball teams should follow the Angels' lead and change their team's name in order to expand their team's reach with baseball fans in their geographic area. Here are a few suggestions:

The Boston Red Sox of New England

The New York Mets of the Big Apple

The Seattle Mariners of the Pacific Northwest

The Texas Rangers of the Lone Star State

Horace Stoneham - stupid old drunk.

My first baseball game with my Dad was Giants vs. Cubs at the Polo Grounds.

Whitey Lockman hit 2 home runs.

My mother was a Dodger fan (mixed marriage).

The Boston Red Sox of New England

Remind me: What's the name of Boston's football team?

Lets extend it to football:

The New York Giants/Jets of New Jersey
The Buffalo Bills of Orchard Park
The Miami Dolphins of Miami Gardens
The Dallas Cowboys of Arlington (formerly Irving (formerly Dallas))
The Washington Redskins of Landover

I wanted to count Arizona being in Glendale, but they dont call themselves Phoenix, so they get a pass.

Also, the Patriots of Foxborough get an honorable mention as a “Boston” team called New England.

The Terriers?

There's no professional football team in Boston.

Growing up in The Bronx, I was a Yankee fan. As such, the only other NYC team that I hated was the Brooklyn Dodgers. Kind of had a positive feeling towards the NY Giants. My Dad took me to see a Giant game at the Polo Grounds once. That was the strangest looking baseball field I have ever seen. Reminded me of a horseshoe. As I understand it, the Polo Grounds was built for polo, but it never was player there. Go figure.

It was the Boston Braves. They moved to Wasshington in 1937 and became the Washington Redskins.

At this point, the Dodgers have played in Dodger Stadium five years longer than they played in Ebbets. Dodger Stadium is also the third oldest stadium in baseball.

“It was the Boston Braves. They moved to Washington in 1937 and became the Washington Redskins.”

No it was the Boston Braves in 1932 only. 1933-36 it was the Boston Redskins. Moved to Washington in 1937.

If you're talking old timers, probably. But today's ballparks need to accommodate vastly better amenities, and few parks can equal this:

AT&T Park (home of the San Francisco Giants):

Superb sightlines from just about every seat, comfortable seating everywhere, superb concessions, modern luxury boxes, really decent restrooms, excellent press facilities, excellent access to public transportation and even the visitors' clubhouse is way better than the home clubhouses at Fenway Park and Wrigley Field!

Small wonder why it's considered by many one of the best MLB ballparks in the country, period.

Ever been to PNC Park in Pittsburgh? Fantastic baseball venue, perpetually terrible team.
