And how much college did a lot of those folks need to pay for and complete in order to qualify for their jobs? It’s not equivalent to compare burger-flippers and educated teachers.

Yes, you are comparing apples to oranges. How about you compare college graduate salaries and bennies with teachers’ salaries and bennies. I don’t think you’ll find much difference.
The problem is NOT the teachers.
The problem is the wasteful administrators and bureaucracy of the school system.
I think we need to be careful to go after the right people. I don’t think it’s right to demonize teachers, police, and firefighters. They work hard and some put their lives on the line every day. The problem is the government bureaucrats who use hard-working public servants as cat’s paws and shields for their wasteful existence.
But You know its really tough getting thru that rigorous College Curriculum to earn a Teaching Degree!!!!
Sarcasm On!
Basketweaving 101 is probably one of the toughest they face, as well as Phys Ed 101.............;-(
>>for 180 days work<<
Do you realize, teachers are NOT paid for the time they do not work during the summer. They are paid for 180-5 days [what ever their district mandates.]
How many paid sick days do cops and fire fighters get? Other state/city workers?
