I am asking a sincere question: In order to be an NBC, must one be both born in the US and be born to two NBC parents? That seems to be the position of some on this forum, but as I pointed out it cannot possibly be correct.

Apparently you need to study up a bit more. Rxsid has something he sometimes posts that explains it all very clearly. The simple version is:

A NBC is one born on the soil of the country, to two parents who are citizens.

The parents do not have to be NBC citizens themselves, just regular ol’ citizens, even naturalized. But citizenS.

I’ve never seen anyone on FR advocate that parents of a NBC have to be NBC.
