Super Bowl halftime shows are the pits. There is absolutely nothing uplifting about them. Was there a theme to the halftime show beyond the Black Eyed Peas sucking up to Onada? I think not. There was no volume to the vocals—I will not call Rap music.
All it was was a bucket of visual and audio noise. Aguilera’s flubbing of the National Anthem is witness to the Super Bowl entertainment committee’s course subterranean standards. It was simply pandering to lowest common denominator.
Some of the ads were effective and funny. But none too subtle sexual innuendo was entirely inappropriate for a family show. I’m not a prude, but I was embarrassed as I watched the game with my 13-year-old granddaughter. And please, the shot to the male groin has been done already. It would be nice if the ad writers could be a bit more original.
what happened to the “alternate halftime” show ala in living color which had a count down clock.
Then again with low ratings, why bother?
(dosn’t NASCAR get this level of attendance every weekend?)
