I'll give her credit for good showmanship and recovery after botching singing her national anthem at the super bowl, though. It's just too bad that she didn't put as much importance on singing the right words as she did on showcasing her vocal prowess.

Many many times, less is more.
Better to sing it as if you are holding back that amazing vocal talent, just being a pure voice, and THEN on the last few verses, you cut it loose a little....
She was ‘showing off’ right from the get go. Left her, artistically, no room to maneuver and nowhere left to go to.
