Ping
Not familiar with most of the actors not in the LOTR movies.
Son will go nutzo...me too. lol. Hope they’re as well done as TLOTR trilogy.
Well its about time. Cant wait to see this. Was watching a documentary on Blade Runner and Ridley Scott going on about financial troubles that plagued the set..echoing what Peter is going through no doubt.
One movie is the Hobbit. The second covers the period between then, and the beginning of the Fellowship: The Necromancer of Dol Goldur, the return of the Nine to Minas Morgul, etc.
“Confirmed cast include...Richard Armitage...”
What? The guy who outed Valerie Plame? Must be an Orc.
(Just kidding).
OMgosh.... I CANNOT wait!!!
The idea that the second movie will be for the period between The Hobbit and TLOTR has been denied. Instead more of the things going on off scene in the Hobbit will be shown, such as meetings of the White Council, led by Saruman and including Gandalf and Radagast the Brown. Also the driving of the Necromancer out of Dol Gurdor, more of the battle of Long Lake and the battle of the Five Armies.

I've wondered for a while...Is he 'gay'?
So...no Christopher Lee?
The story went that he said that was too old to travel to NZ for the shoot, but I’m not sure what the final resolution was. They should do whatever is necessary for him to appear, including filming some scenes in London if necessary; if they had to recast Saruman, it would hurt the films.
Movie Premieres to be Christmas 2012 and 2013.
And...in related news...geeks across the whole world became aroused.
The Lord.of.the.Ring.Net site showed Christopher Lee as confirmed last month, but he isn’t on the list. On the other hand Orlando Bloom is mot listed either, and he is definitely confirmed to appear as Legolas (who is hundreds of years old and is a wood elf).
IF it's done properly, they can spend more time expanding and developing all of the characters.
It will be interesting to see where they split it.
Perhaps when the sun comes up and turns the trolls to stone?
