There was a lot of hype about this last year; but I thought they decided this was once a simple farmers' fence.

Evidently it’s a set of holes in the ground. It seems extremely doubtful that it would go back to anything like the paleolithic period.

Farmer’s fence seems a likelier explanation, on the face of it.
