What an awesome and true responsibility it is to raise a child/children. Most of us were/are young, and with little knowledge of living, when we became parents. Especially if we did not grow up in a Christian home or have Christian parents.

There was a time when school began each morning with the Lord's Prayer, and the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America. When we moved to Corpus Christi ... I was in the second grade; and we also sang “The eyes of Texas are upon you, all the live long day” ...every morning. etc., Even as a child I noticed the pride of Texas in their state: Oklahoma did not emphasize their state, that I knew. Scouting has had a lot of attacks for several years now. The ‘homosexual agenda’ has attempted to have acceptance in membership and as leaders.
Boys that accomplish the level of EAGLE Scout, are rightly to be honored. They usually are exemplary citizens and leaders as well. A worthy goal.

Thank you this devotional.

To read a chapter of 'Proverbs' daily, or verse by verse, is a wonderful way to start the day with children. They remember these things; and it is, indeed. part of the fabric of their life.

I remember all those things that you have mentioned. It was a big part of our lives and we enjoyed it as young children...it was a big part of our day right on up through high school. Its amazing how things have become so twisted these days. I believe if I had young kids today, I would want them to go to a Christian school as all we see these days are bad things.

Thank you for your words today, geologist.
