Amy, I am sure they know something is wrong - but I think they try to think ‘everything will be ok tomorrow - things are just a bit foggy today’.

I took a course on “Alzheimer Care-Giving’ - and learned a lot from some very qualified experts - it helped me deal with the situation in a more loving way without being so emotionally involved.

Yorkie, that is excellent advice.
My dear Mom took care of Dad at home for Years before he had to go into skilled nursing care.

She took so much of his disease PERSONALLY that it nearly killed her.

I was a Recreational Therapist for many years and worked with Alzheimers Patients in long-term care. I developed music and art programs that were very helpful. I tried to share my knowledge of the disease with Mom so that she would not suffer so much...but when you love someone as much as she loves my Dad, it is hard to think logically about it.

(((HUGS)))
