I’ll try to get back after while to post my Caturday and answer pings. I am going to this place on the Virginia side of town to pick up some homemade hot tamales. You must order them ahead of time and then pick up.
This started in this little city when I was a little girl. There used to be this little black man who made them and he pushed a cart up and down our main street selling his tamales. There is no one in this town who doesn’t remember him and his tamales. Now, his family fixes them. You can order mild, hot, and extra hot. I ordered 3 mild and 3 hot. You can refrigerate or freeze them. My brother took a couple dozen back to Georgia and put them in his freezer. They are wonderful. I will have two for lunch today and can’t wait!
That is what I had for lunch yesterday, JC!
I simmer mine (with husks on) in a mild red enchilada sauce
For about 20 minutes.
When I take them out of the husks,
I put some of the sauce over them
And grated cheddar cheese.
YUMMMMMMY!
