After a bit of early movement, the betting line for Super Bowl 45 has settled, staying in the same place for the better part of the last week. Like any Super Bowl, betting will fluctuate in the two weeks leading up to the game itself, with action coming in heavy early and late. In the middle, the period were in right now, there tends to be a lull in betting, as evidenced by the lack of movement either way in this years line.
As it stands right now, the Green Bay Packers are favored between 2.5 and 3 points over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Currently, the over/under sits at between 44.5 and 45,

Bet the over.
No guarantees -- my opinion only.
The Pack is back.
Cheeseheads of the world unite.
Take the pack and take the under. Just my take
I’ll go Steelers and under. As I see it, the smartest bets are either that or Packers/over. Steelers win a low-scoring game, Packers win if its a shootout.
I look for the Steelers to lean on Mendenhall to grind the game down and control possession. Green Bay offense will have at most 6 possessions. Big Ben will only throw when they need a first down or when Green Bay loads the box. That would be my game plan were I Mike Tomlin. As a fan, I would like to see Green Bay win.
Steelers and under for the money though.
In the last three superbowls the underdog covered the point spreads. Saints were underdogs. The Cardinals lost, but covered. The Patriots did not cover the point spread by one point, AND they missed an extra point kick. I bet on the Steelers plus 2.5. The Pack was hot two weeks ago.
Not so sure about that. Both defenses are really good. The Pack defense has shut down some of the best offenses in the game this year. It could be a low scoring game with a Pack win, too. This is one of the most interesting Superbowl matchups I can recall. I can’t get a good feeling either way. If Rogers can do on this indoor turf 50% of what he did in atlanta 2 weeks ago, they could do some damage early.
Packers and the over.
Aaron Rodgers has the Mojo this year.
His mobility and creativeness will be the key
I'd say only if the Pack gets up big early. Possible, but unlikely. Smart money still says that the lower to combined score, the more it favors Pittsburgh.
I’m with you. Pitt and the points is a no-brainer, and the field in Dallas is fast. I think these teams may ring it up.
Ben Lurkin: Take the Steelers and the points. Bet the over.
Bullish: Take the pack and take the under.
kevkrom: Ill go Steelers and under.
EyeGuy: Packers and the over.
ALL good advice, I’m sure. Clearly football betting is a science and not an art. ;-)
Maybe I’ll sit this one out.
He bets with his head. [/s]
As for me... I'll be sitting in my warm living room in front of my 1080p 240 Hz tv with a fire in the fire place, multiple cold brews and pizza :-)
My prediction: Pac by 5.
Take the Pack to cover and the under. I figure about 20-13. Top two defenses in scoring allowed. 10th and 12th in offensive points scored. The Pack soft side is run defense at about 18th, but Pittsburgh is only 11th in run offense. Missing their center, and the Packers healthier than they have been all season with a dynamic running back taking the reigns - I see a grind it out game with a couple big plays making the difference. I give the nod to Green Bay on big plays if their special teams don’t let them down.
“Packers win if its a shootout”
I don’t know about that. They played eachother last year and the Steelers won 37-36, with Big Ben throwing for over 500 yards.
Maybe Ill sit this one out.

LOL.
I am only doing one of those random block pools for the game, no skill needed.
“Aaron Rodgers has the Mojo this year”
Well, for part of this year, anyway. You probably wouldn’t have said that back in the middle of the season, when it was doubtful whether they’d make the playoffs. And even just last week, in what is obviously the most important game outside of the Superbowl, he was quiet after an initial barrage.
Really, this “mojo” thing rests on a single performance: the divisional playoff round. Which is not enough, in my opinion, to prove anything. He is one of the top 5 quarterbacks in the NFL, don’t get me wrong. But he can play above or below that level on any given week. The team is certainly on a streak, and Rogers along with the team (ignoring his sleepy performance most of the conference game). But that can stop at any time. I see no evidence of unstoppable “mojo.”
The current Steelers team has 28 Super Bowl rings amongst them
The current Packers team has ? Super Bowl rings?
Trivia question: What NFL player past or present has the most Super Bowl rings?
Bullish: Take the pack and take the under.
kevkrom: Ill go Steelers and under.
EyeGuy: Packers and the over.
Take the hundred and ten that you were gonna bet, and take momma out to a great steak dinner {try Morton's, bring extra cash} on Saturday night, no matter what happens in the Super Bowl, you're goona be a winner.
