Thanks everyone. Think I’m going top loader.

But what about the dryer? Top or front and gas or electric?

I dont think there is any such thing as a top load dryer, and ABSOLUTELY gas -vs- electric ($$$)

The front loader is my choice- i think the wash is much better, less soap and water (I have septic), and it holds the bigger loads (conforters, blankets) so I only do wash half as much.

Top gas if you have gas. Only way to go in my book. Much cheaper to operate almost everywhere in the U.S.

If you can get gas, get it. I assume you had a plumber check it out.

I have gas in my house but not enough flow for a dryer.

Gas is super fast but hard on clothes. Keep the lint from building up or you might get a fire.

Gas will really cut your electric bill if you do alot of clothes

I have an electric ... it does ok, but electricity here is more expensive than gas. If I could, I would go with gas. The only dryers I have seen have all be front loaders.
