I think Chuck Wagon Foods has gone out of business. No more bolton biscuits.

(Junk food is the likely cause of a Midrif Fault.)

"In our life time, we could very well see one of these cities destroyed," Kaku said. "Los Angeles, San Francisco, Mexico City, Tehran, Tokyo."

I vote for Tehran.

After the Big one on the New Madrid Fault the Mississippi is river is to be 300 miles wide. That should lower the sea level caused by all this global warming we keep hearing about.
Unfortunately New Madrid MO is only 20 miles from Cape Giradeau El Rushbo’s home town BTW can we expect the big one soon?

Up here in the Ozarks, near Bentonville, Arkansas, I'll be looking forward to the new island nation of Waltonia.

South LA, lower ETX. Much of AL won’t have to worry about flooding caused by GW.

The gov is requesting bids on 210 million liters of water

Now they want gas? Yep. (see below)

The following info is from Urban survival.

http://urbansurvival.com/week.htm

Quake Planning

Now they want gas? Yep. Government’s got a presolicitation notice out for 24-thousand gallons of gasoline and 135,000 gallons of diesel in each state for NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, TX, and LA. That’s 1.272 million gallons they’re wondering about; how much to commit to 24-hour delivery in each state.

File under lining up ducks in order not to get Katrina’ed or Rita’ed?

A couple of other items on the pending Midwest quake front. One is this discussion in December on the FEMA blog about contingency planning.

http://blog.fema.gov/2010/12/70-earthquake-in-midwest-planning-for.html

The other is possible impact of such a quake which the University of Illinois has done a lot of work on including hundreds of pages of planning docs here.

https://www.ideals.illinois.edu/handle/2142/14810

The most useful one is the single volume piece here which outlines the disaster scenarios which should give you a good idea where the 7-million planning number came from.
