There's plenty of options in compact semi-auto pistols, but one of my favorites for concealed carry is the Sig P239 in .40 S&W. It's a slim, single-stack design without the forward accessory rails (which just add bulk and weight, IMO).

I believe the .40 model can be switched to .357 Sig with just a barrel and magazine swap. That's normally not a big deal but with the recent scarcity of ammo, it might be nice to have that flexibility.
