(Jackie Chan): My Visit to the White House
JackieChan.Com ^ | 1-20-2011 | Jackie Chan

When I had a chance, I took a look at some of the beautiful rooms in the White House; I was so excited just to be there. When I looked around, I could feel all the history of the place and I felt like I was having flashbacks into history just by being in these rooms. It was thrilling!

When I met President Obama, he shook my hand and told me that he was a big fan of mine. Wow! This made me feel so humbled and honored. I was practically speechless and just mumbled to him that it was an honor to meet him. He told me that I was very popular with children in the United States and of course I was very happy to hear him say that.

Can you believe that I met four presidents in one night? I met President Obama, President Hu Jintao, former President Clinton, and former President Jimmy Carter. When I met President Clinton, he grabbed my hand and brought me over to meet his wife, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton. Mrs. Clinton told me that her husband was a big fan of mine and that he loved to talk about me. This made me smile from ear to ear. I felt so honored.

Although I have seen President Hu Jintao at events in China such as the Olympics, this was the first time that I ever had a chance to talk to him privately. While I was talking to him, President Obama came over to the table and said, "You know, Jackie Chan is very famous here in the States" and President Hu Jintao replied, "He's more famous in China!" Ha ha ha!

If Chuck meet the Chinese president I’m sure he’d be a gentleman about it and not say bad things in the press afterwards. He’s classy.

14 years ago Jackie wasn’t so Rah for the mainland. That was pre-handover of HK.

He had nod and winks and the looming change in Hong Kong (like in Police Story 3 where he partners with a woman from mainland China).

After the handover, Jackie, Tsui Hark, Jet Li, and John Woo ALL left China behind to make movies in Australia, Canada, and the US. But Hollywood pushed crap on them and eventually John Woo and Jackie Chan returned to making Hong Kong product (some with a historical bent).

“This thread is ripe for some Chuck Norris action”

So right. When Chuck Norris does push ups he doesn’t push up he pushes the ground down.

Come on now people. Are we going to hate Jackie Chan now just because Obama likes him? Petty.

He met 4 of the biggest wind bag criminals ever to walk the face of the earth and he’s thrilled?

To be fair, I don't know much about Hu... But I agree with you on at least 3 of the 4.

I hope Chan is smart enough to realize that both Hussein and the Sink Emperor are pathological liars.

When they claimed to be “fans” of his, he should have said: “What an honor, which movie of mine is your favorite?”

I bet they would not have been able to answer.

But no Jet Li. Jet Li (I think) is practically a national hero in China, but he wasn’t there.
