Let me try and explain why I appreciate Jacob. I think he was for his whole life probably a wunderkind of gospel style singing. And at his Compton church they probably just “let him go” all the way with his emotional delivery, because it was for the passion of the religious experience. I believe he was an effeminate boy but of course innocent, as all children are innocent.
So I see all that in him still, as an adult. This show is teaching him to hold back so as to not freak out his audience. He can’t help his face. And he can’t help his effeminate ways. For all we know he may live a clean life; of course if one of you has some Adam lambert pics of him kissing guys I will stand corrected, but he could still be a good christian boy.
I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. And his voice is heavenly, truly. You just have to close your eyes and listen — watching him is difficult. I totally get it. But to me, his effeminate ways are just a handicap he cannot help, like that one blind guy they had a few years ago.
