The site is REALLY slow. There seem to be issues that have been ongoing. I know you're in a Freepathon, but in the LAST Freepathon, I gave you quite a bit of a donation. Why? Because I like the site and I thought I ought to contribute.
This slowness is really frustrating. What's the problem?
Don’t you HATE reading news sites? You can’t post to correct misinformation! It irritates me no end and I end up yelling at the monitor. LOL
I HAVE to go to bed but your post reminded me of the old days. Can you imagine some the the new people having to deal with others that forgot to close a tag? LOLOL!!!
Stop Scrolling!
Stop Scrolling!
Close italics!
Close Italics!
LOL Goodnight!
I’m glad to be of service. For an “80s song,” it really speaks to our times...
Yes...a great song.
As I was reading your post № 130, I was thinking: "Where have I heard that...where have I heard that? (tapping fingers)...
How about check your own computer. I have been in and out all day and notice nothing unusual!!!
“Close Italics!”
Omigosh! I remember that, but it was “off italians”! lol
I remember the first time that my posted words came screaming back at me in what must have been 64 font...at least, it seemed to be that big at the time. I was mortified! I thought I had broken the site all by myself. ;o)
Over the last several days I have also been having problems with FR. It either doesn’t come up at all or certain parts won’t like search or posting boxes. I have been wondering what has been going on.
Maybe a selection of ads that were merit worthy would be acceptable. There should be enough of them to at least really help. I do believe, though, that people appreciate things that they contribute to more.
Guess I’m not the only one having lots of probs with FR.
The net in general seems to be having a lot of issues today. Two days in a row my connection’s gone ape around 8, and I’m seeing quite a lot of folks on IRC and WoW mentioning trouble of various sorts.
Thank you, you are spot on.
It is time for some transparency on the issues the site has been having on an ongoing basis for quite some time.

Im sorry but I cant confirm if my Vanity was pulled or not.
All I know is that, I believe no-to-illegals asked that my Vanity be pulled, whether it was or not I dont know.
>>I hope the FR servers/databases dont crash one day and take out all the old posts.
That has already happened to a certain extent. Don’t ask me the date, but since the last big crash you can’t get to a lot of legacy posts from before mid-2001 or so.
Here is an example:

Bravo, sir! I concur.
I am the One whos vanity was pulled I guess,if it was.
Again I thank no-to-illegals for getting the Information out.
It won’t stay that way if the site is unreliable and users drift off to other sites where the response time is reasonable. It is 2010, people expect a higher level of system response than they did a decade ago. If Jim really wants FR to remain “THE premier grassroots conservative website” this is not something that can be ignored and continually brushed off with “it’s another DoS” and “they’re working really hard on it”.
That is a minor tragedy if true. That content is priceless. My own intellectual evolution from irritating libertarian contrarian to fairly orthodox conservative is documented to some extent in my posts from those years. Are they gone now?
I had imagined going back and compiling my old posts one of these days, to have as kind of a memoir from my early adulthood. That probably sounds a little corny, but those were formative years from me, politics-wise, and there really is nowhere else where my thoughts from then are captured in writing.
And I think of some of the posts I've read here over the years. FReepers have written some pretty incredible things, things worth preserving. To lose the FR archives isn't quite the burning of the library in Alexandria...but it's close!
Yeah, you've mentioned that. About six times so far.
Maybe you should make that your tag line in case anyone missed it.
