The site is REALLY slow. There seem to be issues that have been ongoing. I know you're in a Freepathon, but in the LAST Freepathon, I gave you quite a bit of a donation. Why? Because I like the site and I thought I ought to contribute.
This slowness is really frustrating. What's the problem?
Noobs? I must be a “noob” because I don’t know who the heck “Jim Thompson” is. I’ll have to ask Jim Robinson, and maybe he’ll let me in on the joke.
Thanks!
Lay back on the couch and tell me how long you’ve felt this....slowing down. How does it make you feel? You know we do understand, we really do, really.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think Laz is saying “I’d hit it.” :D
Me, the n00b, now ducking and running for cover...
I doubt my ducking and running for cover will help me.....lol
AAAAGGGHHH.....turn off the lightening, please, please.
DUH. I’m a SLOW NOOBIE. Nevermind, Colonel Mister.
Well see now, Jim Thompson owns FR. I heard it on a lefty show. Olbermann or one of those guys. And this Thompson guy was listed as one of the lefty’s most hated people. So Jim Thompson is in hiding and this Robinson fella is covering for him.
One is never wrong thinking Laz is saying Id hit it.
Great post Bill,
I’ve been frustrated, but no way I’m ever giving up on Free Republic. Thank you for your explanation of the complexity of the situation. It’s waaaay over my head but I’ve always trusted that Jim and John are doing their absolute best.
Money certainly doesn’t solve every problem, but chipping in as a monthly donor is worth every cent knowing it helps to support FR. As a conservative, I realize patience is a virtue and this is a grassroots site. No one ever said life would be easy, unless they’re a Democrat. :)
Then you get up and finally clean the house... Got my kitchen done Wednesday...it looks so nice....:O)
Well duh me, I actually sat here and fretted with withdrawal. You mean next time I have to actually get up and clean? ;-)
Reminds me of a story I heard many, many moons ago.
The Vice-President of a major corporation called in an expert to fix a crippling computer problem. They assigned a company man to escort the expert, and assist him however possible.
After they entered the computer mainframe room, as the company man watched, the expert walked along slowly, sliding his hand across the outside of the cabinets.
At one of the cabinets, the expert moved his hand in what appeared to be a random pattern, then stopped at a certain area on the cabinet face, took out a pencil from his pocket and marked an "x" on that spot.
The expert then opened a small black bag he was carrying, and took our a rubber tipped hammer (the type doctors use to check your reflexes by tapping just below your knee), and gave one short, quick tap to the spot marked with the "x". The computer system immediately started working properly.
The expert returned to the Vice-President's office, then wrote, and presented out a bill for his services. Upon reading the bill, the Vice-President asked, "You are billing us $15,000.00 for your repair services, but my employee who was with you said you just tapped on one of the computer cabinets with a small hammer." Handing back the bill, he said, "I'm afraid I can't pay you $15,000 for just tapping a hammer!"
The expert then took the bill, and revised it to read: Hammer-tap: $1.00, Knowing where to tap: $14,999.00.
The Vice-President paid the bill in full.
Thank you for answering.
That’s all I wanted. Don’t want to be banned. Don’t want people to attack me for asking what’s wrong with the product.
It seems like some here, in their race to defend you, have read something into my posts that isn’t there.
Again...I didn’t mean to cause offense and I will go back to my usual status as someone who reads a lot but doesn’t comment or post much.
You too? LOL! That’s what I actually am doing when I’m not sneaking back to the keyboard. The Salvation Army’s donations take an uptick when FR is slow... I got hand towels. A boxful. Anybody want hand towels?
HAHAHA!!
Withdrawal sucks big time, need to forget, need to forget...then you kick the dog (only kidding on kicking the dog) she's smart and gets out of my way.....:O)
LOL I was trying not to be too presumptuous.
I’m curious, do they talk a lot about politics on the Catholic site?
