Made bean soup last night - leftover Christmas ham and kielbasa, navy beans, carrots, celery, onions and some broth in the freezer from a chicken carcass. Tasty. And really not a lot of work - ya have to plan ahead a bit to get the beans in the crock pot in the morning, but it only took about an hour to make the soup itself.
nom nom ;o) delicious.
It actually is less time consuming, if one uses these methods of cooking double batches, etc, to home cook meals (saves in travel time to store too) than to cook prepared foods that are full of cr*p.
And slow cookes, especially for people who work - throw the food in before work and come home to a cooked meal ready to eat. What can be easier?
