No. We just moved here from Texas where we had coyotes EVERYWHERE. Shot a few of 'em while hunting tho rare to see them in daylight. Hearing a pack tune up at sunset is scary to first time listeners.
And no, it was NOT obvious that they are all the way up here in the frozen wastes of the far north...always thought of them as desert types.
Well then. Coyotes have been here as you now well know as well as Wolves. If You think coyotes yipping at night is something to hear..you should hear wolves.
