Ashton Kutcher is getting toned and tough - so he can fend for himself and look after his family following an Armageddon-type crisis.
The movie star and producer, who is married to health nut Demi Moore, fears a major U.S. energy meltdown is nigh and he's trying to get superfit so he can deal with the chaos that will follow a blackout or worse.
Kutcher discovered combat training Krav Maga last year as he prepared to tone up for his role in Killers and now he's obsessed with running, Bikram yoga and Muay Thai fighting with the French national champion - and he insists he's committed to his extreme workouts, so he can dominate in desperate times.
The 32 year old tells Men's Fitness magazine, "It will not take much for people to hit the panic button. The amount of convenience that people rely on based on electricity alone. You start taking out electricity and satellites, and people are going to lose their noodle.
"And people are going to go, 'That land's not yours, prove that it's yours,' and the only thing you have to prove it's yours is on an electronic file... People's alarm systems at their homes will no longer work, Neither will our heating, our garbage disposals, hot-water heaters that run on gas but depend on electricity.
"What happens when all our modern conveniences fail? I'm going to be ready to take myself and my family to a safe place where they don't have to worry... All of my physical fitness regimen is completely tailored around the end... I stay fit for no other reason than to save the people I care about."
And he admits he tasted what life could be like after a major national or international calamity when he, Moore and her kids were left without power for 14 hours at their mountain cabin last Christmas.
He adds, "I got my guns out. We made a fire. We went to the grocery store... People were rolling in and out, clearing out all the shelves... It was like a preview."
i have heard that he is a big gun guy for a while now. He and is wife exchanged handguns as anniversary presents. There is a youtube video of him handling guns.
This is hugh AND series.
:)
Well maybe this guy is doing all this for a publicity stunt but I *do* see this as a good sign. Look, anytime one of the sheeple opens one eye to what’s goin on around him/her I think is good for this country. We are quicy heading off the cliff but it’s still not too late to turn this thing around. Perhaps it’s a bit of fear mongering but fear does work, it can and will motivate change.
As for this idiot, if he truly has had a change of heart and now understands how fragile our society really is right now I say good. I’m sure Ashton will still support Obama in ‘12 and everyone of his policies, this is a start at least for him.
As for Krav Magra, there’s many versions of it here in the states. I’ve noticed it’s become the ‘in’ martial art for the trendy people. Krav is effective if the old school version is taught but I highly doubt Ashton is going home black and blue after every class.
“Im sure Ashton will still support Obama in 12 and everyone of his policies, this is a start at least for him.”
Yes I’m sure you are probably right about Ashton Kutcher but maybe as you say he has a small clue.
thats only because my karate chop is too fast for your untrained eyes!
I hope so, in order for this to turn around peacefully he and a lot of other sheeple will need to wake up.
Yep..all the kung foo crap in the world isnt going to be a tinkers damn when it hits the fan.
Then again, I grew up "Up North" away from cities and can handle tough times. All I have to do is survive here and make it back home to Roscommon. Up there I got water, wood, few people, wild game, fire materials, family, and lots of land parcels. Down here, I have a generator and gasoline, plenty of guns and ammo, and enough to get by. However, I'd rather been more than 10 miles from Ypsi.
So's my Weatherby.
