My kids woke us up at 3:45am...yep, that early. Got up at 6am, done with presents and breakfast by 7:30.
So I'm having fun now before my nap.
I'm really reading Vince Flynn books voraciously now, and know we need a Mitch Rapp now in our country. That aside, I was talking to my wife (who hasn't read the books), and she is a big movie buff. I asked the question, ok, Mitch Rapp is olive skinned, black hair, and the first movie they'll do likely will have Rapp in his early forties/late thirties...we figured Gerard Butler could do it w/out the accent.
I’ll have to do a bit of stretching first.
Do Silva’s books need to be read in order as Flynn’s do?
Once that movie is cast and made, I want to know who is going to play Reacher!
Cheers and Merry Christmas,

Ive checked my calendar for the next few months. Turns out Im free to take the role. IF they can program Mitch to be an overweight 68-year-old balding guy.
I heard an interview with Vince Flynn not long ago.
He says there are Mitch Rapp types working for us.
If so someone needs to turn them loose. Many, many targets around.
I was kinda disappointed with the latest Flynn book. It should be the first Rapp novel read as it’s primarily about Rapp’s recruitment and training.
Re-reading Debt of Honor, Tom Clancy , right now.
The first reading was during the Clinton era and amazingly apropos.
What we need is a Ben Raines
Sure, if you like young adult fiction...

He has a strong aversion to guns...
Yes.
He would be good!
I call his books, "See Scot Harvath run. Run, Scot Harvath, run!"
Hit the gym and you could do Oliver Stone (not the director) for David Baldacci. I love the Stone series.
If you believe everything IMDB says. He certainly has no problem using them in movies. I find it hard to believe a member of the Israeli Navy has a strong aversion to guns.
I was thinking the same thing...Yeah, IMBD is a big time liberal site!
He was good in the Mummy movies.
On his web site Silva says it is advisable to do so, but not one hundred percent necessary. He will often utilize flashbacks from previous novels when he wishes to emphasize something in a character’s development relevant to the current novel. The Kill Artist was the first in the Allon series and the place to start.
Merry Christmas, the forecast for snow tomorrow here has just been increased to 12-18 inches from 6-10. Wish a had a new Silva novel to spend the day with, guess I’ll just have to watch football all day.
Baldacci writes some outstanding fiction. Wish I could do that.
Unless he has a strong aversion to money, he'll likely take the part if offered.
Most of them do. ;)
Dunno. All the best ones are too old or too dead, I think.
My list would be Bruce Willis, Robert Duval, Kirk Douglas, Charles Bronson, etc. Basically, someone tough and rugged, who can also sound smart. Definitely NOT pretty, though.
