Read slowly this time. It might help with your comprehension issues.

If either Sarah or Huck are the GOP nominee in 2012, they will need the independent voters to vote for them. For that bloc of voters DADT is not a critical issue, and coming out against will cost them more votes than it gets them. (Again just my opinion). And since they are, above all, politicians, votes are their lifeblood. They won't shed potential voters lightly.
