Why aren't you doing something to stop DADT from being repealed?

“My posting history speaks for itself. I noticed you pinged Jim Rob. Are you hoping I’ll get zotted?”

No, I don’t expect him to zot you. However, I wanted to make him realize there are insidious forms for pro-homosexual statements...many where the person doing so doesn’t even realize it. Defending Palin, Huckabee, or anyone that failed to address this issue is not right.

BTW - I looked at your profile page. I’m not so sure your theology is consistent (an observation not insult). You have contradictory links posted there. For instance you link to Campus Crusade’s “Four Spiritual Laws” but also to Phil’s Spurgeon’s archive. C.H. Spurgeon is my most favorite preacher in history. I guarantee you he wouldn’t want to be on the same page as “Campus Crusade.” If you have read his sermons, you would know that.

You appear to be well intentioned, but not very consistent.

“Screw you asshole!”

You just showed your true colors...regardless of what you say and where you say you stand.

And you are a very consistent asshole.

That is only the second time I have used that prejorative on this forum in the last 10 years. The first time was just a few minutes ago. Don't tempt me to use it again.

I cannot tempt you. Only Satan and your own fallen nature makes that possible. Don’t blame me for your own sinfulness.(actually we ALL suffer from that) You need to apologize to the forum (not me) for your vulgarity...stop making excuses for it....and while you are at that...your politician friends that have morally sold out. Don’t give them a pass....none of them.

Why the heck is he silent?

Precisely why I want to hear his show on Monday. Will he ignore this? Neither he nor Hannity have addressed this topic...hmmmm.

“I’m not going to call you an asshole again. You are just a jerk. Don’t post to me again.”

If you don’t want to be posted to, then DON’T POST, and don’t call me or anyone else names. Now keep your fingers off the key board, resist the urge to respond, and everything will be all nice.

Only a small child hurls an insult and then has the audacity to tell the person insulted to not respond.

BTW - Now more than ever, you owe the forum an apology.

“I apologize to the forum.”

Good for you (really).

“I will apologize to you when you apologize to me.”

I never insulted you, and the only insinulation is in your mind. I don’t want your apology....you need to agree that letting ANY candidate have a pass on moral issue to include conveinent silence is NOT acceptable. That was the only reason I started the post yesterday; to get “moral” leaders in politics off the fence (my goodness - it took John McCain to speak out).

There can only be true apologies/forgiveness where there is repentance. The word used in I John 1:9 for “repentance” is “homologeo” which translates “say the same thing.” God grants forgiveness when we “agree” (say the same thing) with him (see things his way).

When persons of good conscience, you and I, have a disagreement then there can only be true resolution when they “say the same thing”, just like in dealing with the Lord. I have absolute certainty that I’m on solid (Godly) ground to insist that candidates like Huckabee and Palin (proclaiming Christian belief and values) demonstrate those values by publically saying so on moral issues, and when it can make a difference (as it might have yesterday) on issues like further homosexualization of the military like repealing DADT. You hold other views....unless I have misread you...that because DADT doesn’t immediately push homosexuals out of military service (something I would like to see as well..but isn’t on the table) they shouldn’t speak out against repealing DADT which IS now, because it was repealed, already setting increased homosexualization in motion. My goodness man, read some of the other things posted here on FR quoting General Officers in the military.

Anyway, we “don’t say the same thing”, so there can be no reconcillation.

I will be very clear on one thing. IF anything I said gave the impression that you were “knowingly” promoting a pro-homosexual agenda....that is not what I meant. I think you are against the homosexual agenda in general.

Now I need to get to bed. I’m going to my church tommorrow so I can be a “Bible thumpinghypocrite” in the eyes of many on FR.

Hi. This is my first post on FR, but I wanted to say that I am very impressed with the fervor that Sola Veritas, Little Jeremiah, and others have shown concerning the need for leaders to speak out loudly against the repeal of DADT. I think this issue is huge. There is no time for passivity or nonchalance by any true conservative leaders. I agree with SV that any “conservative” leader who fails to address this issue head on will not get my vote. Any failure to do so is just plain wimpy IMO.

As Edmund Burke once said: “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”

Anyway, here’s what I did after reading this thread: I called and left a message at the phone # listed on huckpac.com, I posted a comment on huckpac.com, and I posted a comment on mikehuckabee.com. They haven’t all shown up yet because they have to be approved, but in each case I asked Mike to come out and express his opinion about the repeal of DADT. We’ll see what happens.

I believe that what we are seeing in our culture today is a dire crisis in masculinity. As author Leanne Payne states in her book “Crisis in Masculinity”:

“A crisis in masculinity is always a crisis in truth....A culture will never become decadent in the face of a healthy, balanced masculinity. When a nation or an entire Western culture backslides, it is the masculine which is first to decline.”

In addition, Alexander Solzhenitsyn once said of the West that it was “too weak to oppose the Communist evil that overcomes and defies intelligent thinking.” I think that nowadays we could substitute the term “radical homosexual agenda” for “Communist evil” and come up with a very profound statement.

Anyway, thanks for starting this topic, SV.

Maybe the American people should do something about it rather than sitting on their hands and writing vanities.

“As Edmund Burke once said: “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.””

Thank you. It is persons like yourself and Little Jerimiah that will turn this issue around. God has His people out there....it is to them I’m mainly speaking.

Be prepared for opposition. Each candidate has a group of ardent followers that will give their candidate a pass no matter what. I know because I have done the same in the past. Right now it is Sarah Palin followers that seem to be into “Messiah” worship....they seem to think she can do no wrong and she is a reincarnated Ronald Reagan. She isn’t, but no one is....God bless him and his memory (my favorite president) but I don’t think Ronald Reagan was what RONALD REAGAN has come to represent. He has become larger than life.

Anyway...God bless. You too Little Jerimiah. BTW folks - Little Jerimiah is a Christian lady and a Woman of Valour.

Cute sarcasm. Doesn’t get anything changed though.

Sophistry and illogical. Writing to supposed fellow conservatives is NOT doing nothing. Besides, who said this is all I have done....that is a big assumption.

“Thank you.”

You’re welcome. A couple more quotes came to mind after my original post too.

From Alexander Solzhenitsyn:

“In keeping silent about evil, in burying it deep within us, so that it appears nowhere on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousandfold in the future.”

Neville Chamberlain comes up too, for foolishly thinking he had won “peace for our time” by placating Hitler. Yeah, right. ;)

And from William Barclay:

“An easy-going attitude to sin is always dangerous. It has been said that our one security against sin lies in our being shocked at it. Carlyle said that men must see the infinite beauty of holiness and the infinite damnability of sin. When we cease to take a serious view of sin we are in a perilous position. It is not a question of being critical and condemnatory; it is a question of being wounded and shocked. It was sin that crucified Jesus Christ; it was to free men from sin that he died. No Christian can take an easy-going view of it.¹

“It is persons like yourself and Little Jerimiah that will turn this issue around.”

And you too. :) Well, we can do our best at least. Incidentally, my comments on Huckabee’s Web sites haven’t shown up yet, but no comments newer than mine have shown up either.

“Be prepared for opposition. Each candidate has a group of ardent followers that will give their candidate a pass no matter what.”

I’ve learned that the hard way. On another conservative board, I had some pretty frank criticism for Carrie Prejean last year, and boy did I get some scathing comments for it!!! It was plain vicious. Unfortunately, conservatives do have their sacred cows. I bet if Carrie Prejean weren’t attractive, nobody would’ve bothered defending her so vehemently. LOL. I think that’s another reason Sarah Palin gets defended so much—she’s pretty.

“I know because I have done the same in the past.”

It’s human nature.

“I don’t think Ronald Reagan was what RONALD REAGAN has come to represent. He has become larger than life.”

Definitely. He’s the one who gave us Sandra Day O’Connor on the Supreme Court, after all. :(

“Anyway...God bless.”

Thanks—same to you.

“You too Little Jerimiah. BTW folks - Little Jerimiah is a Christian lady and a Woman of Valour.”

That’s nice to hear. Based on her screen name, maybe she’s got a bit of a tomboy in her too and likes to race cars, hunt, etc. ;)

Incidentally, concerning the topic of this thread, what exactly is a “vanity”? I did a Google search and found the term “vanity page,” but I don’t know if this is the same thing.

Oh, one more comment. A lot of folks don't seem to see what all this acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle is really all about. Gays aren't truly after equality—they want to *silence* and disenfranchise those who oppose their lifestyle. Their main goal is censorship, not “equal rights.” They couldn't care less about the First Amendment IMO. That's why it's naive to say, “Gays being in the military doesn't bother me.” If it doesn't bother a person, then they aren't suspicious enough and have no idea what's coming down the pike, just the way so many blind Americans flocked to Obama as our “savior” in 2008. :P Finally, a lot of them are waking up to what he's all about.

A poster named “goalieman” on another board sums it up well:

http://forum.hucksarmy.com/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=24012&hilit=repeal&start=30

“Whether it's homosexuals in the military, gay marriage or whatever else they are trying to advance, the real goal is to establish that lifestyle as no different than any other lifestyle and anyone who speaks against it must be silenced by use of ‘hate laws’. The recent labeling as hate groups of some very fine conservative organizations by the SPLC is the direction the LGBT crowd is headed for. The “we just want equality” line of argument used by them is just a smokescreen for shutting up the rest of us.”
