Well, what do I know, I still enjoy “Pets” by Porno For Pyros, lol.

People got freaked out by the band’s name, but it was inspired by the band’s lead singer watching the LA riots, and all the fires ... pyromaniac porn. Political commentary, rather than anything illicit.

That lead singer was Perry Farrell, formerly of Jane’s Addiction, another band of that era that I enjoyed. “Pets” is pretty nihilist, it’s early-mid nineties after all, but I do still love it, it’s oddly affecting.
