A woman was arrested Tuesday evening after bringing her nine-year-old son along as she sold crack cocaine to an undercover buyer, according to deputies.

Investigators say Robin Renee Broderick, 38, of Luther Road in Port Charlotte, showed up in the Sam's Club parking lot on Murdock Circle around 6 p.m. to meet with the buyer.

She sold the person 1.5 grams of crack, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies then moved in and arrested her. They say they found another .7 grams of crack hidden in her bra.

The boy's father came to the scene to pick him up.

Deputies say they'd been tracking Broderick for a while. They made previous drug buys from her on July 21st and August 17th, purchasing cocaine and Oxycodone, according to the sheriff's office.

Broderick is charged with Child Abuse, Sale and Delivery of Cocaine within 1,000 feet of a School (Port Charlotte High), Sale and Delivery of Cocaine, Sale and Delivery of Oxycodone, Conspiracy to Sale and Delivery of Cocaine, Possession of Oxycodone, plus two counts of Possession of Cocaine and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

She also faces a Violation of Probation charge and is being held without bond.

Deputies seized the Cadillac Broderick allegedly used in the drug deals.

Nice to have a job where you don’t have to dump your kid in daycare.

Hey, cut her some slack. She unexpectedly ran out of crack and couldn’t find a baby sitter on short notice. What ELSE was she supposed to do?

;-)

Given the kid’s prospects, it was probably a useful educational experience.

Oh! She was SELLING the crack.

But, still — if the schools were closed for teacher conferences or something she’d HAVE to take the kid to work with her, right?

At least she wasn’t so irresponsible as to leave him home alone!

Wow, big case - nearly 4.5 months of undercover buys and then the big one - take her down with a whopping 2 grams of crack.
