The woodstove in my kitchen will accept it. You can get some hot chocolate or hot coffee in exchange.
Merry Christmas to SJB from NnB.
Christmas might be on the 6th there? Orthodox maybe?
He definitely said the 7th. Father Negasi is Roman Catholic, but the majority of Ethiopian Christians are Ethiopian Orthodox. They might have a different date for Christmas from the Catholics!
He’s a sweet young man; I put him through seminary.
I watched an “Inspector Linley” movie, instead of “Toy Story 3,” since I saw that a couple of weeks ago with my son and grandson.
Now I’m off to bed. I yawned a lot, which is not a good sign, so it’s time to call it a halt.
I’ll see you all tomorrow.
Have a good night! We have some kind of documentary, if we want to watch it, and 3 DVDs can go out in the mail tomorrow. Don’t know why we have three at once - it’s only supposed to be two.
Yes, it is. For 16 hours out of the day. They are 8 hours ahead of you -- add 8 hours to your time to find theirs. It's 6:30 PM Sunday for you, and 2:30 AM Monday for them.
(Just FYI, I'm regularly calculating the 9-hour offset between here and Central Europe Time, which is where most of my colleagues there live.)
I did two at once when I watched the Harry Potter moviues...one a day for six days...pretty good,if you can stand the tension of rapid growth...:o]
G’night!
Tomorrow!
I hope you’re resting up!
Apparently the Ethiopian calendar has a different base from our calendar, so the 7th there coincides with the 6th elsewhere: "It is celebrated on 7th January (Tahsas 29 E.C) preceded by a fast of 40 days. The difference of date is due to a calendar of discrepancy since the Ethiopian calendar is based on the year of Grace 7 or 8 years after Anno Domini. The Ethiopian Christmas coincides with the date of this observance in the Eastern Orthodox dispensation."
Amazing. I looked it up on a "world clock" site and they show Monday being the 27th.
Trying. I just spent an hour and a half trying to figure out how to get games onto LoM’s phone. The ONLY way allowed is over-the-air, as in “data plan.” Gr.
I just followed a bookmark I've had for a while for crackle.com -- movies for free? I didn't know there was a sequel to "Starship Troopers"; I wonder how I missed that (other than I usually pay little attention to movies). I wonder how bad it was. I may have to watch this week.
Ah. Ad-supported.
My connection’s not fast enough for seamless display.
We like to watch tv shows or movies on the actual tv set, near the sofa.
Our set is downstairs in a multipurpose room and I don't really like the setup there these days. I don't watch any shows anymore, but will occasionally watch football games and DVDs.
Though last evening we watched a movie we'd seen a long time ago and enjoyed: "Rhinocerous" (she spent a lot of time with Eugène Ionesco when he visited our university). A mistake: experience of life in the U.S. since made it depressing.
But she now has a couple of videos on ancient Iran that should be interesting.
Try looking it up on "Give us back our eleven days!"
As I said, Pope Gregory didn't have influence in Ethiopia.
This “Anoreth’s amazing airport adventure” teaser caught my interest. Is there any way to pre-order the book, or should I wait until it comes out on DVD?
The dog I got at the shelter last Wednesday is house traded but will not go outside unless I go with her. No accidents in the house that I have found. When you pet her she always crouches down and hides her head. She is becoming more accustom to her new new surroundings and just now when I petted her she put her head and front feet down but stayed up on her hind legs.
I made some soup but I don’t have any crackers, do you think I could use Rice Krispies® instead? The ordinal not the cocoa ones.
It will be available for free on the Undead Thread when she recovers from “La Gripa” and gets enough sleep. Maybe tomorrow, maybe Tuesday. Tomorrow she’ll be on the phone with the auto insurer sorting out the latest Unfortunate Event in Washington State driving.
