As many here know, SyFy's "Caprica" was unceremoniously pulled several weeks ago. Pulled so fast that there remain five unaired episodes. Pulled so fast that the cast first learned of it on the net.
What has been printed so far suggests that there were "script problems" that led the producers to pull it faster than a woman grabbing wedding dresses at a Filene's Basement Bride Sale. That the show had failed to find an audience. That the story arcs of monotheists being murdered by the state and a teenager's mind being inserted into a killer robot (noted as 'icky') were just too much for the audience.
The show had some very good acting and an inventive story line. Apparently, not enough to keep it from being blown-up in mid-season.
Web sources say the studio is now working an a second prequel to "Battlestar Galactrica," to show Adama in his academy days. Who knows what the real story might be.
Correction Sci-Fi saved the show. SyFy would not have done so.
I thought so too.
Actually it was Sci-Fi who did that. I think SyFy would repeat what Showtime did. :)
In my mind, it’s gotten so bad it actually became a parody of a pro-gay show, and in fact is making gays look horrible, but the pro-gay-rights folks who watch it can’t even tell.
Kurt the gay guy, turns out he’s never had sex, or even kissed anybody, so his whole “homosexual” thing is simply his attitude. And they made him an atheist, and had him mad at his friends for praying for his dying father, who then miraculously got better after he relented and let them pray (although that’s not how the show played his recovery).
Then he’s just been mean to everybody since, and now he’s got a gay friend and is shown dropping all his other friends, and mocking the fat girl for not having a date and being too clingy.
Oh, and the bully who kept attacking Kurt (which used to be “funny” for the show before the show decided it had to be serious about bullying, which is absurd since Sue is a bully, and nobody every gets expelled for violence like in real life)?
Well, that football player bully, turns out HE’S GAY!!. So the only person physically attacking the gay guy is a GAY GUY. Hate crime, indeed. And the gay football player KISSED him. Ha Ha. Now the gay football player is threatening to kill him if he outs him.
And they don’t realise that this is every stereotype about evil gay people. Mean, prissy, violent.
