In between they visited their homes in New England ~ and I'd imagine the fellows with the super sperm helped out their ineffective neighbors! Big families were all the rage in America.
Just check for signs that somebody belonged to The Church of the First Born.
LOL! Same three people.
I think Renee is a bit of a roller coaster too. I looked at some pictures of Kirsten and she looks a bit like a young Ann Margaret who was born in Stockholm. Pretty girl.
I think they say nonsense about Obama to get parts in movies especially Ashton Kutcher. Yup no guns, knives or combustibles. Finns and knives are a bad combo cause if you piss them off...look out.
I saw someone mention they hang out with Elin Nordgren’s friends.
I admire Elin. She is a pretty girl, put in a terrible position, globally humiliated and she obviously puts her kids welfare as her priority.
They started out in New Sweden but when they were abandoned by their Swedish leaders they moved West from Delaware.
By 1700 they'd relocated everybody to the York PA area. From there they founded numerous "mostly Sa'ami" colonies named "union" this and "union" that.
The Finns try to claim these people, but there was no Finland in 1638 when the Swedes first began shipping Sa'ami to America. They were usually referred to in records as "FIN" but in the 1600s that referred ONLY to people who spoke a language from the FENNS or FINNS, that is, the area we now call the Sapma.
The use of Finland comes with the creation of the Grand Duchy of Finland in 1812 with the breakup of the Swedish Empire.
I suspect there were Sa'ami at the underground iron mines in Otsego NY, but quite possibly none at the surface mines in Minnesota and Michigan.
Due to forced assimilation back in the days when people thought being Sa'ami was a matter of culture and not of profound racial differentiation, you find several million modern Scandinavians who probably have a Sa'ami ancestor ~ not the kind of numbers that undoubtedly exist in America, but enough so any peculiarities in appearance are considered "normal".
BTW, the King of Swedens eldest daughter married a Sa'ami guy several months ago. Squinty eyed "personal trainer".
A singer named Mari Boine Persen looks like a lot of my lady cousins ~ check http://wn.com/Saami_Musical_Tribute
Could be. Gere has the high cheek bones and does not look exactly English. England also was very Anglo Saxon from Vikings etc. Some of the women have a lot of Scandinavia in their features.
They really can tolerate cold water that long? I took a ferry in the summer from Denmark to Sweden at night. Scary as hell because it was so dark and that water, even in June looked frightening.
I cannot imagine going all the way to Antarctica in those days.
The Norwegians are far as nautical engineering anything are probably the best. When those poor Russians died on the Kursk - they called Norwegians. They should have called them sooner.
The Sa'ami had developed a boat hull design that was good for use in mountain streams, ordinary rivers AND, lo and behold, the Arctic Ocean and the North Sea.
The Vikings adopted that design. There are materials on the internet that show the relationship of the First Millenium Sa'ami boats and the Viking dragon ships. The relatioship is obvious. The Sa'ami also knew something about fishing and how to deal with the cold that the Vikings didn't, plus they undoubtedly brought with them freeze dried urine from their favorite reindeer and shamen (which is a whole 'nuther matter centered on a narcotic they used regularly ~ you look up Santa Claus Fly Agaric ~ and you'll find my earlier posts on that).
The Vikings went out to raid the world and they took Sa'ami with them ~ things were never the same again.
I never knew the emigration to America started so early. I guess they figured if they can handle the cold near the arctic circle than new world would not be that hard.
A handsome couple. She is pretty but she really has dark eyes. Now are the Swedish royals really Swedes or counsins of the King of Spain or Greece or something. Prince Phillip is a Greek and an Austrian?
Shame her old man turned into a nut job. The Swedish royals were doing so well as fars as RP goes from the wedding.
Yes - I remember how Sweden was broken up.
Yeah I saw the name the first time and I thought just another German family who probably moved to Texas hill country. My Norge friend said no she is Norwegian - be nice to her after her marriage mistake. She is very talented.
I liked the first video with the land, amazing clothing costumes in bright blue and red plus the reindeer. Typical Scandinavia - drive a million miles past trees and water. Very pretty but rugged.
I listen to the woman singing with the string bass player and I wonder what is the connection with land bridge with Asia and American Indians because she sounds almost Asian and then also American Indian.
Most likely Swedish interests had attempted setting up a year round fish drying operation somewhere on the coast of Canada or the US in the 1500s but the Indians were still too aggressive, and the Spanish regularly patrolled the region looking for pirates.
The Royal family in Sweden are a mixed lot ~ thoroughly European, but the current line was founded by Count Bernadotte, from France. This was part of a deal with Napoleon.
Going back further in time, the Vassa King, the first Swedish King in the line leading to Gustavus Adolphus, and all the others up to Count Bernadotte's takeover, had a Great Grandmother who was among the Bourbonnaise (the French families intermarried with the House of Bourbon that took over France sometime in the 1300s. There were a lot of Bourbonnaise.
Anyway, this guy could really do some crosscountry skiing and about the time of his accepting the crown, and rebuilding his noble class, which had pretty much been murdered by the King of Denmark (in a dynastic dispute), he fled Danes trying to kill him by skiing something like 200 miles ~ a regular stakhanovite, but that was typical of a Sa'ami and not a Viking.
We really don't know who these guys' mothers were but I'm guessing an awful lot of Sa'ami ladies found favor with the Swedish nobility!
If you watch the winter Olympics they wrap it up with a bit of cross country skiing. The leaders are all Sa'ami and one German. He never wins but he won't give up.
Back to the current king, I listened in on the press interviews with him. He's an amateur historian, and he can pronounce the correct name for each and every building, wharf, quay, breakwater, beach and bridge built or designed by a Frenchman anywhere in Stockholm, and he did so! His names match the ones in my own genealogical records whether the Swedes themselves agree or not.
I like the guy.
The Swedes still kvetch about how the French ruined the qualities of their people in the 1500s by introducing such luxuries as silk, wine, metal spoons, clay and porcelain crockery and plates.
The Eskimo are derivative of the Yakuts/Sakha people ~ and are, by extension more related to Buddha than they are to Jesus!
Literally.
The Yakuts/Sakha have the Sa'ami X-factor DNA sequence. There are American Indian groups with the Sa'ami X-factor DNA sequence. It is currently believed they may have arrived in America by hunting seals along the winter sea ice in the North Atlantic. America was closer when the ocean was lower.
That X-factor gene could have come directly from Europe, or around the long way from Yakutia!
Some identify the Sa'ami culture of 15,000 years ago with the Clovis culture.
In general most American Indians show some Yakutian ancestry ~ with Yakutians arriving in the Americas numerous times over the last 25,000 years. Sa'ami are not identified as having any Yakutian ancestry ~ BUT, all Europeans have a 5% East Asian ancestry.
Thanks for the history lesson. I did not realize the French influence but remember the deal with Napoleon.
I love the skiing to get away from the Danes and 200 miles. Yes - I understand about cross country skiing and Sa’ami.
I remember in college I had a Norwegian exchange student buddy. A conservative too. We also had some Finns in one class. Where he lived off campus there were a lot of Finns. Well the big Scandinavia winter sports thing occurs which is a really big deal. Like a Scandinavia Olympics that occurs either yearly or every 4 years. Well he is all excited and starts to antagonize the Finns.
Funny guy and I think his family was loaded. He told me in an offhand way how his tailor in London had everything memorized.
The royalty in Sweden was doing well until this scandal. The woman are so good looking it makes it tough to be king...but somebody’s gotta do it.
Yeah, why not ~ gotta' be one tough job. And then there are all those saunas!
One of my early French ancestors who moved to Sweden in the 1500s was given one of the Vassa King's illegitimate daughters as a bride. Later on one of his grandson's snagged another later king's own mistress.
Those guys used to keep harems! They were then, and remain, only nominally Christian.
.....More advanced agriculturists moving in from the east, pushing the less-advanced natives before them or wiping them out.....
Exactly. This is a Darwinian phenomena where the strong replace the weak and take their lands. It can be said now the weak in Europe are being tested again by the more vigorous peoples of Africa. The Euros were decimated by the war and lost their will to survive
hmm, coulda sworn that link you sent had been posted in some form. Will post it.

Renee Zellwegers ancestry.

On her maternal side there are relatives with Finnish names.
She’s a beauty IMO.
I fell in love with her when she was in that movie with Tom Cruise, “Show Me The Money”, or something like that.
