The problem with iTunes is how scrubbed the music is. Everything is the same volume, vocals, keys, guitar, bass.

In iTunes, you can adjust each song with presets. Right click on the song and click "Get Info" and then click on the "Options" tab. Then under "Equalizer Preset" click on the drop down area and select a preset.

If you want to see what the presets are, go to the menu Window->Equalizer where you can select a preset to see where the controls go, or you can adjust the controls manually.

Not quite the same. There is a richness that you get from an LP that you don't get from a digitized recording. Who knows, maybe it is the compression algorithm. Lower sample rate songs are noticeable. I am especially sensitive to it for some reason.

Unfortunately, that is the digital world we live in.

Digital cameras are analogous.

I tried that on quite a few different songs and it wasn’t quite up to par. I could be expecting too much though. I play bass by ear and trying to pick out the bass parts, even with bass booster setting is a bit tricker. When I get to rehearsal and listen through the PA, it’s a world of difference.
