Odd thing is, I served in VN from 67-69, and for whatever reason, we never talked about our experiences.
My dad was Third Marine Division in WWII and I was Third Marine Division in VN.
He never talked about the war before I went in, and not a word after I got out.
The only thing he ever said was on the day I got back from VN - "not much fun was it?"

We did have a discussion on C-rats. He was amazed that we periodically got C's dating from WWII. So, I guess we did talk about something........ ;-)
